Our vision is to create direct and increasing positive impact on the society and environment through the translation of academic research into products and services helping to deliver United Nations’ sustainable development goals (SDGs).
As the world is realizing the vital role of artificial intelligence AI in building the future, it is equally important to ensure that AI becomes a force of good. We want to meaningfully realize the promise of academic research in AI and complex systems. We know it well that technology is not a panacea, and it can’t solve the problem of poverty or climate change alone, but AI tools are reshaping the world as we speak. These tools can enable committed decision-makers and workers on the ground to become much more effective in achieving the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs).
In today’s digital age, algorithms enable us to rethink many solutions, systems and institutions in a way that wasn’t possible before. Qen Labs acts as a catalyst in this process to achieve its objective of creating impact for academic research in AI and complex systems for applications areas like agriculture, transportation and urban planning.
We develop new conceptual and practical approaches for building the next generation algorithmic systems that we all deserve. We do so by broadening the discussions on the role of technology in society by bringing in influences beyond the broadly homogeneous culture of the technology startups.
